Week 5
This week we finally got out into the community! We started off by
presenting to Green Beginnings a preschool in Culver city on thursday,
and on friday we finished the week off by presenting to the willows
community School! On saturday we held our community gardening day at
Eastwind Community Garden in Marina Del Rey, where we planted green
beans, cucumbers and worked on cleaning up the plots. We also gave our
presentation to all of the participants. We received some amazing
feedback and 86% of the children we surveyed were inspired to start
gardening and eating better. This was by far our best week, and we
cannot wait for the forum on may 19th!
Week Four
This week has been super productive. We have been working on our formal presentation(to use in schools) and advancing our project. Currently we are in direct contact with Julie Beals the executive director of The Los Angeles Community Gardening Council. With her we are working to establish a community gardening day next saturday on the fourteenth. We are still working out the exact details but we would be honored to see you there! We will be announcing finalized information on our site when we have an exact time and place. We are slowly preparing our poster and final presentation for the forum on may 19th, where our whole project will be wrapped up. This week will be huge for us as the physical component of our project is launched and we start entering schools and hopefully the community. If you have any advice or inquiries please feel free to ask using the contact page. Until next time,
Colin, Oliver, Trey and Gray
