Week 1
In our first week of CBL (Challenge Based Learning) our group of Colin, Oliver, Trey and Gray have decided to work with Coronary Artery Disease. After being assigned the broad topic of Cardiovascular Disease(CVD) we did some research and specified our area of work to Coronary Artery Disease. Coronary Artery Disease currently has the highest mortality rate and kill count of any other disease known to man, therefore we have a big task at hand. although we are not sure what our course of action will be we know that the main risk factors of Coronary Artery Disease are high undesirable cholesterol, the smoking or digestion of tobacco, lack of exercise, diabetes, exposure to high levels of pollution, lack of a strong healthy diet filled with fatty acids such as omega-3, obesity, hypertension(high blood pressure), and more. After surveying the field of risk factors we have started leaning towards and brainstorming some sort of diet plan or product that can help prevent high cholesterol and obesity, or some way to prevent and lower the number of smoking citizens across the world. Coronary Artery Disease last year alone killed 7.5 million people. We hope you follow us on our CBL(Challenged Based Learning) journey as we try to stop heart disease and the traumas it brings along with it.
